After several years supporting local small businesses in the Wanaka area, Beanies Accounting Services have merged with Sidekick Wanaka.

For Sidekick clients, Stu Wilson brings a wealth of experience to the team. Beginning his career auditing in London, Stu then went on to work in the UK and later New Zealand as a Financial Controller. Moving to Wanaka 15 years ago, Stu also made the move from working for large corporates to supporting the accountancy needs of small businesses, combining his experience with his passion – supporting local small businesses accountancy needs, so that they can focus on what they do best. Karen, who has been working at Beanies for the last two years, will also join the Sidekick team.

Moving across the hallway Stu says the merger was very achievable. “We have always had a great relationship with the Sidekick Wanaka team and Peter and I worked together for a number of years when I first moved to Wanaka. As both companies have been providing accountancy services to the local community it makes absolute sense to merge”. Stu says after huge internal growth of Beanies, largely due to the growth of his clients, he began talks with James and Ric over a year ago. Finally coming to fruition, Stu is excited to be part of a bigger team, particularly that he will now be able to support his clients with specialist skills from around the Sidekick business. Additionally, the Sidekick Wanaka support staff will provide clients with extra support services, meaning that Stu and Karen will be able to focus what they do best – being accountants.

As well as being able to focus on being an accountant, Stu is looking forward to having more time at the weekends to enjoy mountain biking and travel. At Sidekick Wanaka we are excited to have Stu and Karen join the team!
